Crafty Wonderland Said Yes, 2nd Time Is A Charm!!

About two weeks ago I got together with my sister in law and her close guitar blues picking heroine friend of the family, who we all love dearly. They often go shopping, bike around town or venture out to enjoy the arts together and I was lucky enough to get to join them for lunch just before picking up the kiddos.
After sitting down to eat the best dam Tomato Basil & Cheese Tortellini soup I've ever had, it was made mention that they'd just happened upon Crafty Wonderland. Whether it was the nummy soup or the rock star like presence I found myself in, I had the sudden desire to put myself on the line one more time!!
You see, in February I had gleefully applied to participate in March's Crafty Wonderland but unfortunately with the high volume of applicants and the daunting task of narrowing down Portland’s crafty magic my little lovelies didn't quite make the cut.
This time though come July 8th I am in and all about it!!!! Whooo hoooo!!

Daisy Chains @ Last Thursday June 28th

Last Thursday is an Alberta community tradition that has been held every month of the year since 1997!! Local businesses galleries, studios, restaurants and community vendors come together to fill the streets for an evening celebration of the arts from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m.

This Thursday, June 28th 2007 will be my first Last Thursday and to put it lightly I am frickin' ecstatic!! I never would've known about this event had it not been for my local PDX Etsy street team, yay!! I will be in good company with such Etsy artists as Noelle Doodle's Lil Critters http://noelledoodle.etsy.com/ , Punky Kidz by Jennifer Murphy http://www.punkykidz.etsy.com/ , Luna by Karina Potestio http://www.karinapotestio.etsy.com/and many more warm and fuzzy Etsy faces!! Come join in the fun, enjoy the art, sell your wares or just shop until your little hearts content!! It will be worth it promise.

Finding Lov.li

I don't know why I took so long to check into Lov.li but for some reason I've been hesitating. Maybe it was their hectic front page that scared me off and kept me saying, um.... I'll come back and check this out later. Perhaps it was just the unfamiliarity of it all that kept me away? Very likely, but when it comes down to it I truly believe that I just wasn't quite ready for another handmade based website. Do I really have time to focus on my craft outside of Etsy?? Well, we will see but no matter the reason I've fallen head over heals with Lov.li and have decided to test the waters!! Take 5 minutes to check out the listings and it's members, you might actually find quite a few warm, familiar and often local faces on the site that will make you say hmmmmmmmm.............why haven't I signed up yet!??!
